Every year, the team gets together for our annual off-site before we get caught up in the busy-ness of autumn and winter. This year, we spent two days in beautiful, sunny Torquay.
As well enjoying the local food and drink, we mostly spent a day learning about and working with one of the charities we support through 1% for the Planet, Moor Trees.
Moor Trees are a charity that create new native woodland by using trees in their own nurseries from seeds gathered in the local area. During our sun dappled day with the inspirational and dedicated team at Moor Trees, we visited their beautiful Dartington Tree Nursery where we learnt about trees, woodland and the charity.
We helped to process over 2.5k Guelder Rose seeds in the tree nursery, and then had a wonderful walk through a local wood collecting over 2,500 berries and fruits, including crab apples, holly berries and sloes for their seeds, which will be nurtured and germinated before being planted into native woodland projects. A special shout out to Dave Lewis and Zoe Partridge for looking after us so well.
Zoe, the Moor Trees Fundraising Manager said: “An absolute phenomenal effort from a lovely walk in the woods! Thank you ever so much for coming down to visit us and immersing yourselves in all things Moor Trees!”
It’s a real highlight of the year bringing our team together and great to spend quality time with so many of the team.
