Trust in legal services is high

According to research released by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, most people continue to have trust and confidence in legal services, despite some big challenges such as the Post Office Horizon Scandal and risks around bulk litigation, as exemplified by the collapse of SSB.

It was interesting to hear this and more when London Law Collective CEO Jo Farquharson attended the SRA’s Compliance Officers Conference 2024 at The ICC Birmingham.

Solicitors Regulation Authority CEO Paul Phillip and Chair Anna Bradley both gave keynotes that highlighted some of the challenges faced by the industry in 2024, such as the risks of the changes brought in by the Legal Services Act 2007 that are now becoming apparent, such as bulk litigation and increased fraud.

Added to that, it was interesting to attend a range of fringe sessions on topics such as AI and lawtech to workplace culture and cybercrime to understand in more detail what we need to be aware of in the coming year.
