This Mental Health Week, the conversation around wellbeing at work feels more urgent – and more hopeful – than ever.
This year, Law Care is shining a spotlight on the importance of community. Their approach is about building stronger connections within the sector – encouraging us to look out for one another, share our stories, and create networks of support. Through peer support initiatives, confidential helplines, and resources tailored for legal professionals, Law Care is fostering a sense of belonging and collective responsibility.
We’ve just completed our second Happiness Index survey. With an overall Happiness Index of 8.5, we stand above an average of 7.8 of other firms that use the platform we work with. But to us, this isn’t just a number.
Building a sense of belonging in a community of professionals is what the Collective part of London Law Collective is all about. We are proud that our highest scores came from how we relate to each other – employee relationships, positive interactions, and a sense of belonging, that our team feel safe at work, and are committed to helping the firm grow and progress.
The emotional brain, as the Happiness Index highlights, craves social bonding and connection – making community not just a nice-to-have, but an essential part of workplace health. That’s why we have introduced social events such as our weekly yoga classes, some of which now take place on our beautiful (and sometimes sunny) terrace.
For us wellbeing isn’t a one-off. It’s a daily commitment to building workplaces where everyone can flourish.
